From the back of the property you can view the lake and watch the regattas on Wednesday afternoons in the summer. You can walk across the wide deck straight up the hill into the snow-covered terrain to snowshoe all the way to Truckee or just do a woodsy wander on a lovely fall morning. Breakfast on the deck is accompanied by the scurrying of tiny forest creatures and lovely blue mountain jays. Just down the hill is a delightful bakery (.4mi, 3min) full of goodies for breakfast or lunch to bring home or take to the beach (.6mi, 4min). The beach is small, secluded, and locals are the ones who use it to picnic, kayak, and enjoy being at the lake. A short drive up the hill takes you to the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area (.7mi, 4min) for cross-country skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. For hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail 3mi), you can walk out the back door and up to Antone Meadow and Meadow and connect to the trail hat circles the entire Lake. The town of Tahoe City is only 3 to five minutes away (2 miles) with the Post Office, Safeway, and CVS located on your end of town. To get there you only have to pull out of the two car heated garage that protects your car from winter snow and allows covered access to and from the house. Ski slopes are plentiful with Palisades being within 15 minutes. A portion of snow removal cost is shared with the Villas Condos which are just across the parking lot with ample guest parking. If you so choose, you can pay a small fee to participate in the amenities of the Villas. The neighborhood is very quiet. On one side of the street are 5 private homes with very nice neighbors.
